A New Field Trip

A new field trip has been added to our already extensive schedule.

September 19-21 (Friday - Sunday) - Pocono Environmental Education Center,
Dingman's Ferry, PA

We will travel up to Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) and arrive
for dinner around 6. There can be a social hour which would require you to
BYOB after dinner.

Birding will begin on Saturday and we will bird all day. Looking for fall
warblers and even taking a trip over to Sunrise Mountain for observing
migrating raptors. We will have all of our meals at PEEC's new
environmentally friendly dining hall. Sunday will consist of birding all
morning then coming back for lunch and checkout. There is a charge for the
event and will be around $90 a person, which will include 6 meals and two
nights lodging on PEEC's campus.

We need 10 people to sign up for this trip. Contact trip leader James
Maloney ( jimbo24 at snip.net ) if you are interested.

Upcoming Field Trips

August 16 (Saturday) - Edwin B. Forsythe NWR (aka Brigantine), NJ

A trip to catch the later wave of the shorebird migration spectacle. Meet
8:00 am at the refuge headquarters.

Leader: Martin Selzer

2007 Field Trip Report

August 31 (Sunday) - Palmyra Cove Nature Park, NJ

We will bird for passerines, then go to the cove for waterbirds. It's a good
time for early fall migrants, such as golden-winged and mourning warblers,
yellow-bellied, least and olive-sided flycatchers. These are rare of course,
but we're bound to find something good.

Meet in the parking lot at 6:45 am

Leader: Frank Windfelder
