The Delaware Valley Ornithological Club (DVOC) Weekly Update

Upcoming Meeting (Details at www.dvoc.org <http://www.dvoc.org/> under
"Meetings")
This Thursday August 2, 2007 - 7:30 pm at the Palmyra Cove Nature Center
This is the second of our informal summer meetings
Sarah Thorp "The Delaware River Trail Project in Philadelphia"
Doris McGovern - "Report on the East Park Banding Project"

Summer Reading Club submitted by Debbie Beer
To See Every Bird on Earth, by Dan Koeppel.
The author, a non-birder, tries to understand his father's obsession with
listing, even accompanying an elite group of birders to a remote corner of
South America to toast Richard's 7000th bird. It's an interesting story
about birds, as well as father/son relationships.
Does anyone else have any recommendations?

"Field Trips")
Saturday August 18 - Brigantine NWR, New Jersey
A trip to catch the later wave of the shorebird migration spectacle. Meet
8:00 am at the refuge headquarters.
Leader: Martin Selzer
