The Delaware Valley Ornithological Club  (DVOC) Weekly Update

This week on the PBS series "American Masters" the program will be "John
James Audubon - Drawn from Nature"

Some of the filming was done at the Academy of Natural Sciences here in
Philadelphia. 
Most often this series airs at 9 pm on Wednesday nights. Check your local
listings for the exact time and date.

Saturday August 18 - Brigantine NWR, New Jersey
A trip to catch the later wave of the shorebird migration spectacle. Meet
8:00 am at the refuge headquarters.

Summer Reading Club
Looking for something to read this summer? Chris Walters recommends Don
Kroodsma's "The Singing Life of Birds: The Art and Science of Listening to
Birdsong". This book is available  from Amazon.com at $11.53 (new) and $7.53
(used). Several reviews of this book are posted on the Amazon site. Don will
be our banquet speaker this December so this is a good way to learn about
his man's body of work.
Does anyone else have suggestions for summer reading?
