I have had
an interest in birding since I was young and my parents took family trips
to Brigantine NWR, that was the name back then. In college I rediscovered
bird watching, took a course and started a life list. In 1974 I was one
of the founding members of the Atlantic
Audubon Society and served as President, treasurer and board member
for the next 10 years. My family responsibilities took my time for another
10 years and then back to birding. I was on a World Series of Birding team
for 16 years. Our team was the LGA winner in 2008. I also traveled in the
US, Mexico, Canada, Trinidad-Tobago and Australia for birding. I take part
in Christmas bird counts, Eagle and raptor surveys, breeding bird surveys
and have done Cornell’s Project feeder watch for many years. Photography
has become a recent passion and I spend hours at Brigantine with my big
lens.
