Witmer Stone Sanctuary Committee

Mick Jeiter - Co-Chairperson
Linda Rowan - Co-Chairperson

October 25, 2011 Update

The first two signs have been installed in the Cape May Point State Park at the end of Sunset Boulevard, just behind the rock shop!

This is a major milestone in the Witmer Stone Sanctuary Initiative but it is not the end of the project. There is still work to be done. Additional donations are needed to get the next set of signs posted. If you have not contributed, please consider a liberal tax-deductible donation. If have already donated, please consider an additional tax-deductible donation. Make check payable to "DVOC" and send them to:

The purpose of this committee is to encourage the state to designate part of the property it already owns in Cape May Point State Park as the Witmer Stone Sanctuary. You may remember the photo shown by Pat and Clay Sutton at 2008 banquet program, with Mr. Stone standing in front of the sign for the Witmer Stone Sanctuary. We are hoping for the restoration of this designation to honor a man who did a great deal for both conservation and who was closely associated with DVOC.

Your donations are needed!
No donation is to small!
